As a little girl, I loved to dance. Music would awaken my body, and my inner world would come alive. I was naturally drawn to ballet and ice skating, pulled towards the melancholy enchantment of Moonlight Sonata while my peers galloped to tunes of warmth and sunshine. Now as an adult, I treasure this part of myself - it's what allows me to sit in the abyss of the unknown, to notice, and to sense deeply. It’s in this space where I’m able to meet others in their abyss, help them find their flashlight, and cultivate meaning together.
Meet Blair
I’m often asked how I got into therapy.
I have always noticed and sensed the pain of others. As a little girl, I have vivid memories of wanting to lay my hands on those who were sick to help them feel whole… or to feel something other than what they were experiencing.
I studied biology and psychology in college, and shortly after realized how much I loved the human mind and the significance of relationships more than anatomy or the production of ATP.
After experiencing the breakup of my family in my early 20s and the loss that incurred afterwards, I recognized the value of relational connection and empathy in the midst of deep pain. I wanted to help people who didn’t know how to put words to their pain or didn’t have a person to safely share their experience with.
As I studied and matured as a therapist, I realized that the majority of our fear comes from being alone with certain feelings, coupled with the fear that no one will understand. This philosophy motivates my practice, and I am here to tell you that today is the day we say goodbye to these old patterns of thinking. Together, we will sit in the uncomfortable, befriend every part of you, and uncover how resilient you really are. Following Jesus has been the center of my healing journey, and how he lived and loved are the core values I live by. I take my client’s lead when it comes to integrating spirituality into sessions, and will bring this in as much or as little as you’d like.
I specialize in treating trauma. I use the life-changing modality of EMDR.
